my story

A few years ago, I swapped my forensic degree and stable job for life as a scuba instructor overseas. It didn't make much sense on paper, but I've learned that just because it feels like something you should do, doesnt mean it's the path meant for you.

I've alwaaays been obsessed with living life to the fullest and not spending my life constrained to 4 walls... give me dive boats, surf sessions, camping trips, trees, crayfish, and places that don't appear in the guidebooks any day!

Buuutt being in the ocean all the time also means accepting that knots and damaged hair is just part of the deal... or so we thought.

Have you ever come across girls using socks to curl their hair? Well, one day I stuffed a sock into my hair before a dive and it stopped my hair from knotting up. So when we left Thailand and came back to Australia, we started sewing.

Billybun was built through late nights, trial and error, and a slight obsession with spending less time brushing my hair and more time doing the things I love. Because seriously, life is too good to spend it watching from the sidelines.
